We believe strongly that connected and contributing communities can be built through effective online engagement. We have been incredibly fortunate to work with amazing organizations that share that same belief. In our work as urban planners, we saw the existing model for civic engagement was broken, largely because it provided only one option for engagement, community meetings that required citizens to physically show up at a specific time and specific place. In building MindMixer, we had high hopes that the model could be improved by providing citizens with access to share ideas, solve challenges, and interact with community leaders at any time, from anywhere. Whether it was transportation, schools, taxes, or climate change, we wanted the conversation to be a mouse click away.
Through our work in cities, we came to realize that the word "community" meant much more than just cities. Our communities most definitely include the cities we live in, but they also include our school districts, universities, elected officials, and even private companies. Our ability to be engaged and contribute to every aspect of our community should be able to happen all in once place. For this reason, MindMixer provides people an opportunity to be a citizen, a parent, an alumnus, a constituent, and a co-worker at the same time, in the same place.
We are so excited to see what the future holds for online engagement and intend to play a significant role in changing the culture of engagement across all communities. Lastly and more important, MindMixer wouldn't have such an incredible opportunity without every one of our trusting clients and active participants. We can't thank you enough for choosing to believe in the power of community and be active contributors. Keep up the amazing work.
